Serbian tennis great Novak Djokovic is arguably the biggest favorite to win the title at the Australian Open this year. The nine-time winner at Melbourne Park started his season brilliantly clinching the title the Adelaide International. Djokovic’s smooth sailing in Adelaide sounds clear warning for his opponents in the season’s first Grand Slam.
Djokovic was the top seed in Adelaide International and he reached the finals not dropping a single set. This emphatic title win also further boosts the confidence of Djokovic who has had some tumultuous years in Australia due to his stand on vaccination. The 35-year-old too looks set to reclaim his title from his long-time Spanish rival Rafael Nadal.
The 21-time Grand Slam winner Djokovic’s road to 10th-time glory on Australian soil is out. In the First Round, he will face Spanish Roberto Carballés Baena who will not be a tough hurdle for the Serbian. The next couple of rounds too will be a smooth ride for Djokovic.

The road to Novak Djokovic’s tenth title glory in Australian Open
After meeting the Spanish player in the First Round, Novak Djokovic will lock horns with Bolivian Hugo Dellien Jr, or yet to be announced qualifier in the Second Round. The Third Round will raise the challenge one notch for Djokovic with Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov or Aslan Kazbekovich Karatsev waiting for him. In the next round, Djokovic will meet either current World No. 15 Pablo Carreño Busta or Australian boy Alex de Minaur.
The 35-year-old is expected to cruise through these rounds effortlessly. Afterward, in the Quarterfinal things will get challenging for Djokovic. He will lock horns with either Russian World No. 6 Andrey Rublev, Danish professional Holger Rune, or his ‘best friend’ and 2022 Wimbledon final opponent Nick Kyrgios. Each of them is capable of putting up a tough fight against Djokovic.
Subsequently, in the Semifinals, Djokovic will have to go past second seed Casper Ruud, World No. 9 Taylor Fritz, or 25-year-old German Alexander Zverev to get one step closer to the title. As expected the final will be the most daunting one for the Serb where his long-time Spanish rival Rafael Nadal or Greek current World No. 4 Stefanos Tsitsipas will leave no stone unturned to halt the victory march of Djokovic.
