Tennis legend Roger Federer has landed in Shanghai for a special felicitation ceremony which will be held in between the two quarterfinals scheduled for Friday. But before entering the stadium and soaking in all the love from the fans, Federer also took care of his commercial commitments as the 42-year-old visited the ON store in Shanghai. Federer took part in a photoshoot wherein he showed his goofy side by bringing out funny poses.
In multiple clips doing the rounds on social media, Federer is seen posing before the camera. While the 20-time Grand Slam winner follows the photographer’s directions on how to pose, Federer also sneaks in a few funny poses.
One of those involved posing with his arms spread apart like wings and indicating he was ready to take off. The Swiss legend entertained people gathered around with his funny poses and got cheers in return.
Federer also took a moment to acknowledge the fans who were gathered outside the store for his glimpse. He waved at them and seemingly thanked them for the love.

When is Roger Federer’s felicitation ceremony scheduled at the Shanghai Masters?
Roger Federer will be presented with a special title, a first-of-its-kind at the Qi Zhong Tennis Center during the Shanghai Masters quarterfinals. Federer has been named the first-ever Shanghai Masters Icon Athlete. The announcement for the same was made in May by the tournament director Michael A. Luevano.
“Based on our long-term relationship with Roger and Team 8, his management company, we believe, along with the Shanghai fans, that Roger has gone above and beyond a normal sportsman to a city. Together with the Juss Sports Group, we have created the first international Icon Athlete designation for Federer,” he had said while making the announcement.
Now, the title will be presented to Federer on Friday. The ceremony is scheduled to take place after the first quarterfinal, between Nicolas Jarry and Grigor Dimitrov.
As the match is expected to start only after 4:30 PM (Local Time), the Roger Federer felicitation ceremony will not start before 5:30 PM (Local Time).
