It was a part of their video segment titled “24 Hours with Roger“. It provided a rare look at the tennis legend’s mentoring abilities as well as candid insights into his life.

As Federer shared his experience with the young tennis fans, one of them enquired about the most difficult opponent he had encountered in his successful career. Federer chose Rafael Nadal, the Spanish superstar, and his long-time adversary, as the man he struggled the most against.

Who was the person you struggled against the most?,” asked a young girl, to which he replied, “I struggled against Rafa the most. Yeah, just because of his topspin and lefty, you know. Do you like playing against lefties?” The young said “No,” with a smiling face.

Recognizing Nadal’s distinct capabilities, Federer highlighted the difficulties created by his powerful topspin strokes and left-handed playing style. His forehand ability to produce angles has proven to be a powerful combination, making him a difficult opponent for even the best players in the sport.
