In a recent interview, Roger Federer talked about still staying in shape a year after retirement from tennis. Federer stated that he hits the gym at least 4 times a day and he plans to stay in shape and watch his diet as he is no longer playing tennis.

When he was asked if he trains to match his biceps with his long-time arch-rival and friend, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer jokingly stated, ” He can have the biceps, I don’t need that one.” He also added how he can never get that level of biceps even if he tried.

The 20-time Grand Slam Champion was discussing his post-retirement workout routine where he mentioned how he built a gym in his house after retirement from the game. He stated he went to the gym 4 times a week dedicatedly and does a full body workout ranging from cardio and weight training to core exercises as well.

Roger Federer retired from the sport last year in London after the Laver Cup. He is still a constant presence in the tennis World. He was seen attending the Laver Cup in Canada this year where he was supporting Team Europe. The Swiss legend was also honoured with the ‘Icon Athlete’ award at the Shanghai Masters where an entire event was planned in honour of him.

Roger Federer was honoured in Shanghai

The Swiss Master received the first ever ‘Icon Athlete’ award at the Shanghai Masters tournament. The tournament officials planned and arranged an event to honour one of the greats of the game. Fans in Shanghai were very excited to catch a glimpse of their favourite tennis player who returned to Shanghai after a long time.

Roger Federer was seen hitting his signed tennis balls into the crowd who were desperate to catch hold of at least one of them. he also interacted with the crowd. The 8-time Wimbledon Champion has won the Shanghai Masters title in 2014 and 2017.
