Roger Federer took out 90 minutes from his schedule to answer some questions from the fans on Twitter. The 41-year-old mentioned an unexpected encounter when a fan mistook him for Rafael Nadal. Federer, who won the hearts of countless tennis fans throughout the globe, called it a career after he played his last match at the 2022 Laver Cup.

The Miami Grand Prix is a Formula One motor race held for the first time in 2022. It occurred on Sunday 7, May at the Miami International Autodrome in Miami Gardens, Florida. The eight-time Wimbledon champion surprised the fans as he visited the event along with his family. This was Federer’s second public appearance, as he had earlier attended the Met Gala event as a co-chair along with his close friend and Vogue Editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour.

On Tuesday, the Swiss player took to Twitter to answer some fans’ questions about his career, matches, retirement and future goals. One fan user asked Federer to share his experience when he was mistaken for someone else. Recalling the funny story, the 41-year-old said that a fan mistook him for Rafael Nadal during his visit to Miami Grand Prix.

” Happened the other day at the Formula 1. A guy asked “Can i have a picture with you Mr Nadal?”. I told him I wasn’t Mr Nadal. He apologized and left without taking a picture,” he wrote on Twitter.

Federer also stated the 2008 Roland Garros final with Rafael Nadal was his favorite match against the Spaniard. Regarding Nadal’s withdrawal from the French Open, he said he will ‘miss’ the Spanish player’s absence from the major in Paris.

Roger Federer attended the Miami Grand Prix motor race event along with his family. The former Wimbledon champion surprised the fans with his second public appearance since the Met Gala. During his visit, Federer reunited with his on-court rival Juan Martin del Potro as they both had a warm exchange at the event. The common denominator between the tennis stars is their love for Formula One.

The Swiss player and Del Potro have played 25 matches, of which Federer claimed 18 victories. Their most famous meeting was the 2009 US Open, where the Argentine won his first major. The players last clashed in the third round of the Miami Open, where Federer went on to win the accolade.

The 34-year-old bid an emotional farewell to the tennis world after playing his last match at the Argentina Open. Del Petro decided after struggling with a knee injury for a long time. However, there are rumors of his awaited comeback to play one last time at the US Open, where he had previously triumphed in 2009.
