Carlos Alcaraz had support from the majority of the world today against Novak Djokovic. It was so expected as the Serbian has still not been able to get the deserved respect from the crowd wherever he is playing. Some say that his behavior on the court is not so attractive while others point out that the world was already split into Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal fans when Djokovic broke out, and a third guy was not really welcomed well there.

Whatever the reasons be, tennis Twitter and social media are celebrating the downfall of Novak Djokovic’s reign in Wimbledon. Especially the Roger Federer fans have “come out of their caves” to congratulate the Spanish World No.1 for protecting their idol’s Wimbledon record from the Serbian.

With today’s result, Roger Federer still holds the record for most Wimbledon titles with eight. Novak Djokovic is only a title away from equaling Federer’s record. It will be interesting to see whether the Serbian can pull off the record in the coming years.

It will be interesting to see whether the 36-year-old Novak Djokovic has enough gas left in the tank to win two more titles in Wimbledon and break Roger Federer’s record. Even though Djokovic leads the Grand Slam tally with 23, one more than Rafael Nadal and three ahead of Roger Federer, he has the record of having the most titles in a single Grand Slam tournament in the Australian Open alone.

With Roger Federer having the most titles at the US Open -5 (tied with Pete Sampras and Jimmy Connors), and Rafael Nadal standing undisputedly on top of the French Open with 14 titles, Wimbledon is the only tournament where Djokovic has a clear chance to top the list alone. For the uninitiated, Djokovic has won only three titles in the US Open, while Nadal has four.

Djokovic has already broken most of the biggest records in tennis and with at least 3 years left in the tour based on his fitness, the Serbian has still a chance to break a few more records. Even the young pack led by Carlos Alcaraz is hungrier than ever before to dismantle him on all surfaces.
