Roger Federer announced his retirement at the Laver Cup last year. He played his last professional match, a doubles fixture alongside Rafael Nadal. The Swiss International is back at this year’s edition of the Laver Cup as one of the special attendees.
Roger Federer revealed that he had a busy life after retirement. He spoke about the things he did in the past year. It included taking care of his kids and family and also hitting the gym on a regular basis. The Swiss maestro has been the heart of the Laver Cup ever since its inception in 2017.
Despite announcing his retirement last year, Roger Federer ensured he was a part of the three-day fiesta in Vancouver. “I still feel I do not have enough time. I have packed my schedule up. Four kids will do that to you. I am a professional driver nowadays, organizer, and a logistics man. So it’s a complete different test,” said Federer. The contribution of Federer to the sport of Tennis remains unparalleled. Fans enjoyed the return of Federer as a special attendee.
Roger Federer describes his life post-retirement
Roger Federer stated that he still hits the gym regularly. The 20-time Grand Slam champion was surprised by his dedication to the gym, given that he hated working out during his playing days. “I am still in the gym. Actually, I am surprised. I dread going to the gym. Believe it or not, I go the gym four or five times a week,” he added.

In a conversation with Jim Courier, Roger Federer expressed a sense of excitement towards his upcoming projects. The Swiss legend stated that he was a part of several ongoing projects with his partners, which he looks forward to in the coming years.
The sixth edition of the Laver Cup got underway on Friday, with Team World starting on a dominant note. They won all four encounters on Day One against a depleted Team Europe. The four-time champions are missing some of the biggest names in the sport, including Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic, among a few players.
