Roger Federer, one of the greatest ever to grace the tennis court, was welcomed by the fans with a long and loud standing ovation. The honorary ceremony for the tennis legend had Wales princess, Kate Middleton, in attendance. The Swiss legend’s parents and wife were in attendance too.
A short tribute video for the Swiss was shown, which included the likes of Rafael Nadal, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Taylor Fritz, and Ons Jabeur. The applause from the fans and the words by the tennis players show the respect and love Roger Federer has earned over his career. The ceremony ended with Roger Federer taking his seat in the Royal Box.
The tennis royalty will be watching the three games in the Centre Court today from the royal box. The presence of Roger Federer at his old friend, Andy Murray‘s match will be a moment to watch out for the tennis fans.
