Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer retired from tennis as he was facing issues with his knees. One of the legends of the game hung up his racket in 2022 at the Laver Cup but not before piling up 20 Grand Slam titles. Nevertheless, Federer is gone and there seems no possibility of him making a comeback. However, his fans get excited every time they see him hitting a few shots, even if it’s for fun.
The same happened when a video showing Federer enjoying some casual shots on the court went viral on social media. As a user shared the clip on X, fans got excited and started speculating about a potential comeback from the 43-year-old.
Quite a few Roger Federer fans wished that the Swiss legend returned to the court, even if it was for a doubles event with Stan Wawrinka. However, there were a few practically-thinking fans as well who understood that Federer’s knee was not fit enough to take the loan and the video might be for the documentary set to be released soon.
Check out the different sets of reactions.
Will Roger Federer ever return to professional tennis?
As much as every tennis fan wants, Roger Federer will never return to professional tennis. The Swiss legend has made it loud and clear that he is not even thinking about returning to the tour. The 20-time Grand Slam winner claimed that his mind even does not go there.
Federer said that he is enjoying his post-retirement life. As the Swiss legend was invited to the Shanghai Masters last year, Federer talked about his busy schedule after retirement and said that he is now accustomed to it.
I have to be careful I don’t do too many things, but at the same time I'm really happy to be busy, I like being with other people, love being with my family, I love to travel. But I guess sometimes you just have to make sure to find the right balance and I feel like I have that, so it's great.Roger Federer had stated. (H/T: Eurosport)
He also talked about not mulling over a comeback most recently.
Notably, Federer retired from tennis due to recurring problems with his knee. Nevertheless, the Swiss tennis star left a huge mark before he walked away. Now, Federer is enjoying his life with his family and by indulging in different business activities.
