Roger Federer bid farewell to the tennis world after his retirement at the Laver Cup 2022. Despite being away from the tennis arena, the 20-time Grand Slam champion is still very connected with the sport. On Tuesday, Federer sent the tennis world into a frenzy mode after he answered the fans’ questions on Twitter.

The Swiss player played the last professional match of his career at the Laver Cup 2022. Since his retirement, the 41-year-old has graced events like the Met Gala and Formula One Miami Grand Prix. Yesterday, during his 90 minutes TwitterQ&A, Federer answered various questions regarding his matches, retirement, and future goals.

One user asked the former eight-time Wimbledon champion about his favorite match against Nadal, to which he surprisingly quoted the 2008 Roland Garros match. That was a witty reply from his side. Federer played the 2008 French Open final against Rafael Nadal, where the Spaniard won the match 6-1, 6-3, 6-0. That match is still one of their iconic ATP Head-to-Head clashes, where Nadal lifted his fourth consecutive championship title in Paris.

Federer also stated that he will miss Nadal at the French Open. He cited that the Spanish player’s record of 14 Slams on clay is quite an incredible one in all of sports.

“Yes I will miss seeing him play. French Open + Rafael Nadal = one of the most incredible records in history of all sports,” he said.

At this year’s Roland Garros, it will be the first time that Nadal and Federer will be absent from the tournament. The 36-year-old has pulled out of the championship due to persisting problems with his iliopsoas injury. The Swiss has played Nadal in four finals of the major, where the Spaniard has won on every occasion.

Roger Federer delighted the fans with his recent appearance at the Met Gala as he graced the event for the second time since 2017. Federer was spotted wearing a less adventurous outfit as he wore a tuxedo accessorized with the latest Rolex Perpetual 1908.

The Met Gala is an annual event that takes place on the first Monday in May. It is a fundraising gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. This year’s theme was Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, a tribute to the late fashion designer. Anna Wintour, Editor in Chief of Vogue, was joined by Federer as a co-chair at the event, along with Dua Lipa, Michaela Coel, Penélope Cruz and Andrew Bolton. They gathered for a look at The Costume Institute’s exhibition prior to the Gala night.

Apart from Federer, the other tennis stars who graced the Gala were Serena Williams, Andy Roddick, and Matteo Berrettini.
