As Team World defends their title and wins the Laver Cup for the second time in a row, Team Europe supporter and former member, Roger Federer, has a wish. He expressed his desire to witness Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz to feature in the next edition of the tournament. He also discussed getting a stronger team for next year’s Laver Cup in Berlin.

Roger Federer stated in an interview, “I would like to see Novak again, to be honest. I would love to see actually Alcaraz and Novak on the same team. Love to see that happen.” Having retired from the sport last year following the completion of the Laver Cup, the Swiss Maestro is still an avid supporter of Team Europe. (H/T: Express.co.uk)

Federer himself led Team Europe to victory on three occasions in 2017, 2018, and 2019. He still openly supports the team and wants to gather an even stronger team before next year’s Laver Cup, which is supposed to take place in Berlin. The 20-time Grand Slam Champion called out to the likes of Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz to participate and make the team stronger than ever.

The Swiss legend attended all three days of the Laver Cup. He has represented Team Europe four times and won the title thrice. The last time he played the tournament in London, he announced his retirement from the sport, leaving the tennis world in shock.

Apart from Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz, Federer also mentioned other players he would like to see. He added, ” Zverev would be great just for the German market as well and he’s been such a great supporter of the Laver Cup.” He also expressed that it was sad for Holger Rune and Stefanos Tsitsipas to back out and hopefully they can be there next season.
