The 20-time Grand Slam Champion, Roger Federer gives tips and advice to an entirely new team who will be representing Team Europe under the coaching and Captaincy of Bjorn Borg. He talks about creating a perfect team environment so that the 7 Laver Cup debutants can have a successful run in this Tournament.

Roger Federer himself led the team to victory in 2017, 2018, and 2019 and extends his experience and knowledge on the sport to the youngsters, so that they can stop the Team World from defending their title. He added, “I think it’s thriving in the team environment and being well prepared and then embracing a big crowd. It’s always… it depends on when you play, do you play opening day or on the second day? Depends, obviously.”

Roger Federer will be attending the Laver Cup this year in Canada and has already expressed his support to the Team Europe. He gave a few messages to the team that might prove to be useful to them playing for the first time in this Tournament. Team Europe has no big names this time and all 7 playing are debutants who will play for the first time in this year’s Laver Cup.

In the absence of the famous stars, Federer motivated the young team and mentioned, “Listen to the ones that have already been at Laver Cup before and they can give you some sound advice and I’m sure they’ll be fine. I mean, they’re all excellent players here. We’re talking about world-class players.” He believes that they are all capable of performing well given that they are top-class players and have high hopes for them.
