Roger Federer recently took to social media to answer questions from the fans. He did the ‘#AskRF in around 90 minutes’ and the fans responded. He was presented with a wide range of topics. Federer talked about The French Open, changed his bio, and overall, it was really entertaining.
A fan asked,” Hi Roger. Don’t expect you’ll see this, but here goes. Who was the one player before your era, you wish you could have played, and why?”. Roger Federer replied,” Hmmmm… maybe Borg?”. Federer was referring to the former Swedish player Björn Borg.
Björn Borg, now aged 66, was once the number one-ranked tennis player in the world. The Swedish legend became the first man in the Open Era to win 11 Grand Slam singles titles. He had won the French Open title six times and five consecutive titles at Wimbledon. Borg’s dominance is represented by the fact that he had won four consecutive French Open titles. He is a legend of the sport, and Federer picking him as a dream opponent is no surprise.
Björn Borg is also known to be very appreciative of Roger Federer, who is also a legend in his own right. “Roger is a good friend and he is one of the greats,” said Björn Borg. “We all had tears in our eyes because this great guy is stepping away from tennis,” Borg added about Federer’s retirement.
Federer is a 20-time Grand Slam champion, and if he and Björn Borg faced each other with both in their prime, it would have been a battle for the ages.
Pat Cash calls Roger Federer ‘the best player ever’

Australian former professional tennis player, Pat Cash recently called Roger Federer the best ever when it comes to making shots. Pat Cash said,” “When you’ve seen players like Roger Federer bring in the drop shot after he has won [around] 12 Grand Slams, you think, ‘Oh, this guy is wanting to improve’. He’s the most brilliant player that we may have probably ever seen shot-wise and he was still learning his tactics,”.
Roger Federer’s elegance and smooth playstyle are unmatched. Tennis fans and even the experts admit it. He has won 20 Grandslam men’s singles titles and is one of the greatest ever to play the sport.
