Roger Federer has been one of the most legendary tennis players in the history of the game. He has 20 grand slam titles and has remained at the top of the world rankings for a long time. Apart from his magnificent performance on court, he also a very humble and caring person in real life. He is known for his good behaviour on and off court and people admire him for both.
Former Roland Garros doubles champion Ion Tiriac just insulted the 20-time grand slam champion about the chances of him making a comeback. According to him, Federer risks making a fool of himself on his return back on to the tour. It has been a long time since Federer played a game of tennis at the highest level.
However, it is foolish to rule out a legend like Federer. The Swiss Maerstro has shown some of his best performances when he returned after a break from an injury. Even though he hasn’t taken such a long break before and is 40-years old now, he still possess the talent and the fitness to make a comeback and even win titles.
Tiriac in the interview said, “You can play tennis for fun. Which would be a great thing. Be careful, though: it would be a pity if he made a fool of himself. I see it as a danger because he hasn’t played for so long. If you like tennis, fine, but being competitive at 40? No, no.””

Roger Federer has played some of the most phenomenal matches, sets and games that the world has ever seen. He has made his name through his amazing performances. He has raised the bar so high through his performances that the world expects too much out of him.
Despite being much older than the competition and having suffered from injuries he has shown amazing performances. The Wimbledon Final against Novak Djokovic in 2019 was a match to remember and it came when Federer was 37-years old. It is unbelievable to watch him play such amazing matches even towards the end of his career.
Federer deserves all the praise in the world and support for making a comeback to the tour. Despite being 40, he is still a special player who could defeat any player on a given day.
