The former World No 1 Roger Federer has been one of the greatest players of all time. His journey from a ball boy at Swiss Indoors to one of the best tennis players is truly inspiring. People admire him for his grace and on and off-court calm demeanor which is something exceptional. Federer attended the gala night hosted by French winery brand Moet and Chandon.
The former US Open champion retired with 103 ATP titles, the second most in tennis history in his career of 24 years. He played his last match alongside his arch-rival Rafael Nadal in the doubles category at the Laver Cup. His sudden retirement was a shocker for many since he hadn’t been playing since Wimbledon 2021. Moreover, his farewell night remains one of the saddest days in the history of tennis.

He wore an all-black tuxedo suit with a black tie and looked dapper when he received the award.
The former 6-time Australian Open champion has won 1,250 singles matches over his career and was the World No 1 for a record 237 consecutive weeks. He had undergone his third knee surgery after Wimbledon and his recovery did not go as per plan that delayed his comeback. For his $90.7 million earnings, Roger Federer tops the list of highest paid tennis players in 2022 despite not playing a single match on the ATP tour. Overall, he ranks 7th on the list of the Top-50 highest-paid athletes.
His numerous accolades and achievements need no introduction with a lot of collaborations with leading brands. The specially designed Mercedes-Benz car by the former 8-time Wimbledon champion drew a hefty six-digit price in the auction by Sotheby’s. The auctioned money was kept for use in renovating public tennis courts. The tennis ball has inspired the neon car with the initials of the former World No 1 inscribed on it.
