The 42-year-old also took part in the Warriors’ huddle. Federer then met each and every player on the team. The 20-time Grand Slam winner then met Stephen Curry and posed for pictures. The video of Federer interacting with Warriors’ players was shared on social media by the NBA team’s official handle.
Why was Roger Federer at the Chase Center?
While Roger Federer came to the Golden State Warriors’ home venue to meet the players, the 42-year-old was in the Bay Area not only for that sole reason. As it is well-known that the Chase Center is not just the home for Golden State Warriors and it hosts different events, Federer has selected the venue to host the 2025 edition of the Laver Cup.
It was announced on Thursday that the eighth edition of the prestigious tennis tournament will be hosted in San Francisco and Federer paid a visit to the Chase Center a couple of days later. The tennis legend also talked about the reasons behind choosing San Francisco as the host city.
Federer praised the city for its sporting culture and claimed that there is a large number of tennis fans in the city. The 42-year-old then said that as the ATP Tour does not host a tournament anymore in this region, the Laver Cup will bring some tennis action to the city. The tennis legend also praised the state-of-art stadium.
