Swiss legend Roger Federer jokingly said that he thanks his daughters for allowing him to stay in the house. The father of twin girls, who are 14 now, is spending some quality time after his retirement. Federer has now been away from tennis for more than a year and is now spending as much quality time with his family as possible. With that being said, there is no denying the fact that the legacy of the Maestro is still not low since there is an immense fan following for him wherever he appears in public.

Recently, Federer opened up about being a father of teen girls, he said, “I’m happy that my daughters allow me to live in my own house (laughs). They are incredible. I love them, but I can’t believe what they’ve become at 14. I feel like I’ve taught them so much, but it’s complicated now, in a good way. I know this period will pass but I love that they have so much personality.

Federer further talked about the emotional connection he shares with his girls and how the father-daughter trio can talk about anything. “I’m glad they scream and cry in our house and don’t do it elsewhere. At least this way I feel like they can share their emotions with me. We talk about everything. I like their honesty,” he continued. The Legacy of tennis legend Roger Federer

The Swiss legend had been the face of tennis for a long time after the downfall of American legend Pete Sampras. He played against Sampras only once in their career and won that epic battle at Wimbledon in the fourth round in 2001. For the uninitiated, the five-set thriller lasted three hours and 41 minutes. The final score was 7-6 (9-7), 5-7, 6-4, 6-7 (2-7), 7-5. It is still considered one of the best matches ever played at Wimbledon.

This match later came to be known as the “passing of the torch” since the Swiss Maestro went on to surpass Pete Sampras’ record of most Grand Slam titles won. He led the race until Rafael Nadal took over the record by winning the 2022 Australian Open.

That’s not all; the former tennis professional had to deal with another legend, Andre Agassi, in the earlier part of his career. He leads Agassi 8-3 in their career head-to-head. Federer went on to win the last eight matches played against Agassi after losing three consecutively to him.

Later, his major opponents before the arrival of fellow Big Three were Lleyton Hewit, Marat Safin, and Andy Roddick. He has a positive head-to-head against all of these players. Federer ended his remarkable career with 103 ATP singles titles (second to Jimmy Connor’s record of 109) and 20 Grand Slam titles, two and three less than the all-time leaders Nadal and Novak Djokovic, respectively.
