Roger Federer to co-host the star-studded 2023 Met Gala along with Dua Lipa and Anna Wintour

Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer bid adieu to tennis last September but he continues to be one of the biggest stars globally. The 20-time Grand Slam champion defeated his opponents with his magician-like skills during his peak. Now the Federer Express is set to rock the stage as a style icon.
The 41-year-old is named as one of the co-chairs of the 2023 Met Gala which is also featuring some other global stars. Noted singer and songwriter Dua Lipa, British screenwriter and actress Michaela Coel, and British journalist and long-time Federer’s friend Anna Wintour are the other icons gracing the event.
Sharing the excitement with the fans Federer announced the news on his Instagram.
“I am so excited to be coming back to New York to co-host this year’s Met Gala with Dua Lipa, Michaela Coel, Penelope Cruz, and my dear friend, Anna Wintour,” he wrote, “The 2023 Met Gala celebrates the opening of “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” and provides The Costume Institute. #ALineOfBeauty opens to the public on May 5. I hope everyone enjoys their trip to the Metropolitan Museum,” the legend wrote.
The Met Gala or Met Ball is an annual fundraising event held for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. This year’s Met Gala’s theme will be “In honor of Karl” celebrating the late Karl Lagerfeld, a top designer for decades.

Roger Federer thanks Anna Wintour, the organizer of the event
The tennis legend will take the centre stage in the 2023 Met Gala scheduled to be held on May 1. The recently retired Swiss maestro Roger Federer thanked his long-time friend and editor-in-chief of Vogue Anna Wintour for being chosen for the role. Wintour is also one of the organizers of the event.
“Anna. Thanks for always being there for my family. So many great memories. I can’t wait to share another amazing evening together at the Met Gala,” Roger Federer wrote on his Instagram.
Prior to Federer other tennis stars like Naomi Osaka, and Serena Williams co-chaired the event. In this role, Roger Federer will play the host and curate the guestlist for the event. Fans now can not wait for their star to assume the stylish assignment.
