Eugenie “Genie” Bouchard is a Canadian tennis player and was a former world number 5. She was also the first Canadian-born player representing the country to reach the semifinals of a Grand Slam. She finished runner-up to Petra Kvitová in the 2014 Wimbledon Championships.

Rafael Nadal pulled ahead of Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer in the number of grand slams and purely on the basis of numbers, fans argue that Rafa is the GOAT. In a podcast with “Pardon my Take”, she gave her opinion on the age-old GOAT debate among the Big three.

Eugenie Bouchard said that if we talk about numbers, Rafael Nadal is surely ahead. But, She has the same opinion as many other tennis fans, she said “I’ll always pick Roger in his prime. Roger Federer is the most technically sound player to ever grace the game. Technically by Slam number now, it’s Rafa Nadal, but I personally have a soft spot for Roger but I do think that Djokovic is actually the best,” said Bouchard.

She says that Novak Djokovic is the actual GOAT among the three and she points out towards the head-to-head records of Novak Djokovic. Djokovic has the better score against both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. The World No. 1 has a 27-23 head-to-head advantage over Roger Federer. His battle with Roger Federer is the most well-known in the history of men’s tennis.

The rivalry of Novak and Rafa is also one of the most biggest with the duo clashing 58 times so far. In the head-to-head, Djokovic leads Nadal 30-28. Djokovic has looked a lot better than the other two in recent years, and Roger is almost retired, but Nadal is showing signs of one final resurgence with his 2nd Australian Open title, and his 21st Slam. If Djokovic is to lead by the numbers as well he will have to rise to the occasion.
