Bopanna talked about the importance the moment holds for him who became the oldest player to win a Grand Slam title.

It was so much weight on the shoulders when it -- you know, it just came off. Automatically I fell down. (Laughter.) Yeah, I don't know, but yeah, that moment, I don't think you think of how you're going to celebrate or what you're going to celebrate...It was a huge relief, especially in my case. For years and years I've been trying to, you know, get there.

Ebden said that he completely agreed with Rohan Bopanna on that feeling when they won the match point. The Australian said that it was a similar feeling when they secured a match point at Wimbledon.

Yeah, yeah, what he said takes me back, I had that same feeling at Wimbledon a couple of years ago, the moment we won a match point. You just lose all comprehension of your body and you collapse. I saw him collapse, and then I was, like, oh, yeah, I'm going to lie down and just enjoy this moment too.
Matthew Ebden said.

Talking about the match, Bopanna and Ebden registered a neat and clean victory as they beat their opponents in straight sets. Throughout the tournament, the Indo-Australian pair dropped only two sets, one against James Duckworth and Marc Polmans and the other against Tomas Machac and Zhizhen Zhang.

In the final, Bopanna and Ebden had to fight it out a bit as the first set went into a tiebreaker. However, the Indo-Australian pair looked unfazed as they won it 7-0. In the second set, Bopanna and Ebden did not repeat their mistakes from the first set and won it 7-5 to win their maiden Grand Slam title.
