Paula Badosa has played remarkably well over the past few years. She won her career’s third WTA title. Following this high, Badosa witnessed major losses at the Australian Open, Dubai Open and Qatar Open. Danielle Collins has had a tough season. She started well though by storming into the final of the Australian Open defeating Elise Mertens, Alize Cornet, and Iga Swiatek on the way but was defeated by then World No.1 Ashleigh Barty.

In the French Open, she lost out to Shelby Rogers in the second round. In Wimbledon, she lost in the first round but by teaming up with Desirae Marie Krawczyk, she reached the semifinals of the women’s doubles. In the US Open, she lost in the fourth round to Aryna Sabalenka. In the Round of 16 match, she defeated the Italian Martina Trevisan 6-2 6-4.
