He would like to begin his comeback on the tour surrounded by friends and close companions at the Laver Cup. He will also play in the Basel Open 2022, a Swiss indoor ATP 500 event that Federer has won ten times. But, Federer has revealed his plans for the tour after he comes back.

In an interview with Blick, Federer revealed that he is looking forward to the comeback, but there are some changes. He said: “I won’t be playing 20 tournaments per season anymore, so the schedule will be a lot more manageable. I know my kids would be very happy to go back to some places in the world, like London or Miami.”

Talking about his children hitting puberty, Federer said: “Let’s put it this way: It’s certainly an interesting time that is coming up now, You have so many things on your mind at this age. It’s not that easy.”

For his plans other than tennis Federer said that he is looking forward to skiing, and for golf, he said: “Maybe I’ll go golfing again. But I will not do this alone, but together with Mirka.”

It’s clear that Federer is looking to extend his stay on the professional circuit, but given his age and responsibilities towards his family, he would play in some chosen tournaments only.
