The American tennis star, Serena Williams, partnered with Netflix to feature in the promo for Avatar: The Last Airbender. Besides, Williams has also lent her voice to the character of Ming in the show earlier.
Even though her duration in the show has been short, it has gained the attention of the fans. The promo for the show was released by Netflix on its official Twitter and Instagram handles.

Furthermore, the former tennis professional herself posted a behind-the-scenes story from the promo. She posted the photo with the text, “I’m Lyin’, I’m Flyin.”
For context, this comment is a remark on the leap that Williams takes in the promo to hit the tennis ball and set it on flame. The player has stated that she has been one of the biggest fans of the show.
As per the reports making the round on the internet, the agents of Williams contacted the maker of the show for possible involvement of the star in the show. The Netflix adaptation of the show is coming out on February 22nd. It was announced way back in 2018.
That’s not all; it also features prominent stars such as Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio Tarbell as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, Dallas Liu as Zuko, and Paul Sun-Hyungas as Uncle Iroh. The streaming giant revealed all the appearances of the characters last year in June.
What’s the Avatar show all about that is creating the hype after Serena Williams’ involvement in the promo?
The Netflix adaptation is a remake of the Nickelodeon show of the same name. Basically, it takes place in a world that is divided into four different nations: the Water Group, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. Avatar is the only individual with the ability to blend all four elements.

The show was immensely popular during that period of time. Owing to this, the streaming giant Netflix has decided to create a remake of the show. After William’s special involvement in the promotional video, fans are much more excited for the show to drop.
