After a major victory against Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinals, he was up against Alexander Zverev in the semis. It is to be noted that Dimitrov has not beaten the German since 2014, and, rightly so, Zverev was a strong favorite for this match.

Pushing aside all the statistics, the 32-year-old played great tennis to make Zverev sweat for every point. Soon, he won the match in the third set and sealed a spot in the finals. It was Dimitrov’s first win against Zverev in almost 10 years. Adding to his glee was the ranking update, where he was confirmed to re-enter the Top 10 of the ATP ranking.
