Tennis legend Serena Williams, who is currently pregnant, has become the target of harsh and insensitive comments about her appearance on Twitter. The athlete, known for her incredible career and numerous accomplishments, recently attended the Leagues Cup, where she witnessed Inter Miami CF play, including Lionel Messi‘s debut.
While the event should have been a happy time for supporters, some netizens opted to criticize the tennis legend for her physical appearance. The harsh comments hurled at Williams on social media crossed the line, with some taking to Twitter to body shame and criticize her while she was watching a football match.
Some commenters made obscene weight comments, while others questioned her femininity, comparing her to a male. Williams’ attendance at the League Cup match to see Messi make his debut, was noteworthy, demonstrating the intersections of sports.
