Having turned investor after retiring from the sport of tennis, 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams recently made an appearance at the TechCrunch Disrupt event in San Francisco, where she spoke on various topics including her future plans and some interesting tidbits from her life that are sure to make headlines.

One such interesting banter happened when during an interview the host asked Serena if she had seen a recent Twitter poll where more than 84 amateur tennis players voted to claim they could beat the American in a match. To this Serena, replied she could take them all down one-after-the-other at her own home. Watch below:

During the interview, Serena once again raised hopes of a comeback from retirement too, when she insisted that she isn’t retired yet, having always maintained that she was probably “stepping away” from tennis. However, many have conjectured that the not retired quip seems to point towards her new business ventures. “I’m not retired yet,” she said.

Speaking to FirstSportz in an exclusive interview, Serena’s childhood coach Rick Macci recently said while his former protege could achieve everything else, coaching could be a difficult proposition for the American women’s tennis legend.

“I’m sure she has words of wisdom but at the end of the day, you’ve got to have patience and lots of patience. I’m bulletproof. Listen, I’ve put up with Capriati, Richard Williams, Jim, and tennis players’ fathers from outer space. It’s important to understand that you’ve got to be bulletproof and have a lot of patience with stuff like that. I think she has a lot of words of wisdom where she comes from but she’s such a perfectionist, who knows she’d have that understanding with a player,” Macci told FirstSportz.

“She can do whatever she wants, but I don’t think being a coach is going to be her high priority. But in the end, whatever she wanted to say, just from a competitive point of view, to be a better competitor, to me that would be worth its weight in gold for any player,” said Macci.

Macci explained his stance further by enumerating what it takes to be a coach.

“Technically that’s a whole different thing. You’ve gotta almost have a Ph.D. in biomechanics to under the technical part. A lot of people travel on the tour and are great game managers. Her words of wisdom on how to compete and how it feels like to be under pressure and how to handle the media and stuff, I think she’ll be a wizard,” he added.
