American tennis star Serena Williams partnered with streaming giant Netflix to feature in the promotional video for Avatar: The Last Airbender.
The video was posted on Twitter as well as Instagram and has set the fans to eagerly wait for the show. In the video, Williams is seen being ready for the serve on the tennis court. However, as soon as she leaps, her face starts to glow, just like the familiar blue glow of Avatar. After which, she sets the tennis ball aflame.

That’s not all; the former tennis great has also given her voice to the character Ming, who is a prison guard in the ATLA.
The tennis legend has earlier stated that she has been “obsessed with the show” ever since the show came out back in 2005 during a promotional video with Netflix.
Her appearance in the show is for just one episode, and her character is shown to have a close bond with Iroh. And that’s because, according to Williams, he reminded her of her father.
Reports also say that the agents of Williams’ contacted the maker of the show about the possible involvement of the star in the show. The Netflix adaptation of the show is coming out on February 22nd. It was announced way back in 2018.
Additionally, it features prominent stars such as Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio Tarbell as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, Dallas Liu as Zuko, and Paul Sun-Hyungas as Uncle Iroh. The streaming giant revealed all the appearances of the characters last year in June.
