Former World No.1 and 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams‘ husband Alexis Ohanian shared an old newspaper clipping of him supporting the NFL’s Washington Commanders. The American entrepreneur, known for his work in co-founding popular platform Reddit has time and again shown that he is an ardent supporter of sports as well.
Ohanian is an outspoken advocate for women’s sports. Regardless of his wife, Serena Williams, being a dominating factor in the tennis world, he is interested in a plethora of sports. One such example to prove his interest in sports is an old newspaper clipping of him supporting the National Football League’s(NFL) Washington Commanders.
The American businessman resorted to Twitter(now called X) to share an old newspaper clipping of him supporting the Commanders. He captioned this image with, “My mom saved all my business press. My dad saved this, “ jokingly. The newspaper clipping showed a younger, worried version of Alexis Ohanian as the Redskins seem to be losing their stand.
Ohanian has always been interested in the sporting world. He has been an ardent advocate of women’s sports. Ohanian has also urged other investors to put more money into women’s sports. He is a supporter of equal pay. He is the primary investor in Angel City FC, a club in the National Women’s Soccer League.

Alexis Ohanian is trying to get Serena Williams back into competitive tennis
Alexis Ohanian and Serena Williams recently welcomed their second daughter, Adira River Ohanian. Following the birth of their daughter, Williams has been cleared to exercise by her doctors. She took to Twitter(Now called X) to establish that it was a “super weird experience.”
However, the tennis world saw an unexpected response from husband, Alexis Ohanian. “So, you wanna go back on tour? So you’re telling me there’s still a chance?” Ohanian joked in a response to this tweet.
Nevertheless, Serena Williams has hung up her racket for good. She had quite a stellar career with a grand total of 23 Grand Slams. She has the second most number of Grand Slams in the open era, behind Novak Djokovic. The American veteran announced her retirement in September 2023, saying she needed to spend more time on ‘growing their family.’
