Former World No. 1 Serena Williams made yet another stunning public appearance. She was recently seen at the 2024 Balmain Paris Fashion Week. The prestigious fashion event started on February 26th and will conclude on March 3rd.
The current edition is the women’s fall/winter collection. The same for men is held in January. Williams wore a black one-piece that was cleanly ripped at various places to flaunt her body. She styled it with black glares and black heels, completing the complete look.
She also had a varsity jacket to go along with it. The jacket was black, with the sleeves in white, along with grey designs on the sleeves to further accentuate the white color. Her outfit was created by Off-White, and the American tagged them in her Instagram post, flaunting her look.
That’s not all; the former tennis player even added a special hashtag in memory of her designer friend, Virgil Abloh, the founder of Off-White. She posted a series of photos on her Instagram that captured the entire look that she donned in Paris.
Thank you for having me @off____white ?? #VirgilForeverWrote Williams as caption for her Instagram post.
Serena Williams’ association with Virgil Abroh
Serena was one of the many shocked by the demise of Abroh. The celebrity fashion designer passed away in 2021 after a battle with cardiac angiosarcoma, a rare type of cancer. He had kept the diagnosis private and battled for nearly three years.
He lost the battle on November 28, 2021, at the age of 41. He was in Chicago at the time. Tributes from all over the world came the designer’s way. Williams was also one of the many. She had been a dear friend of his, having first met in 2018 for an advertisement for Nike.
Since his demise, Williams has often talked about the hole in her life since Abroh’s death. On his death anniversary in 2022, Williams shared a special post for him as well with a heartfelt caption.
Williams still continues to wear Off-White on many occasions as a tribute to her late friend.
