“She has no shame!” Tennis Twitter slam Iga Swiatek’s ‘unethical’ way of distracting her opponent during her third-round clash at the US Open

Iga Swiatek, the two-time Grand Slam champion is back to winning ways at the 2022 US Open as she enters the Round of 16 where she will be up against Jule Niemeier of Germany. She defeated Lauren Davis in the third round in straight sets 6-3,6-4 to make it to the fourth round for the second consecutive year and hopefully be able to add another Grand Slam title to her name.

Swiatek has a great season in the clay court season and even became the singles champion at the 2022 French Open. But her 18-match winning streak on the clay court broke after her quarter-final loss at the Poland Open to the eventual winner Caroline Garcia. Her 37-match winning streak also was broken after the third-round loss against Alize Cornet.

Since her title win at Roland Garros, she has been quite inconsistent with her performances. She is hoping things take a 360-turn and change in her favor. She has been at the number one spot after the sudden retirement of the 2022 Australian Open champion Ashleigh Barty and became the only Polish tennis player, male or female, to have ever held the number 1 ranking in singles.

Twitter reacts to Iga Swiatek’s unethical ways of distracting her opponents

Swiatek did something hilarious and unethical as she often resorts to funny on-court antics during her matches in order to distract opponents. Even though she was winning the match still then she did some absurd actions that caught the headlines and was not at all appreciated coming from the world number one.

During, in the third-round clash at the US Open when the both the players were involved in an intense rally, in order to distract Lauren Davis, the Polish started waving her hands off in the air near the net that looked like a jumping jack. Tennis Twitter upon seeing such strange behavior from Swiatek, lashed out at her and criticized her actions as an ‘embarrassing’ and a ‘poor display of sportsmanship‘ since the move could have hampered the games’ rules.
