Caroline Garcia, the 28-year-old French professional has had quite the resurgence in the latter half of the season, after her triumph at the Poland Open where the French professional defeated Ana Bogdan in the final of the tournament, Caroline Garcia has added yet another trophy to her trophy cabinet as she recently won the Cincinnati Open as well.

The win in Cincinnati was Garcia’s third Masters title of her career after back-to-back wins in Wuhan and Beijing a few years ago. The French professional dominated her opponents throughout the tournament all the time to her way to the title. She faced some formidable players Jessica Pegula, Aryna Sabalenka, and Petra Kvitova.

Tennis Twitter reacts to Caroline Garcia’s Cincinnati triumph

28-year-old Caroline Garcia faced a formidable opponent in Petra Kvitova in the finals of the Cincinnati Open, Kvitova played through an excellent tournament as well as she had defeated some big names on her way to the finals of the event. Kvitova made her way to the finals after beating players like Ons Jabeur, Ajla Tomljanovic, and Madison Keys. Beating Keys must have been the hardest draw for her seeing the form Keys played the whole tournament in.

In the finals of the Cincinnati Open, Caroline Garcia proved to be too much to handle for Kvitova as the French professional emerged victorious by 6-2, 6-4 to clinch the third masters title of her career. With this victory, Garcia made history as she became the first qualifier in history to win a WTA 100 event and she did after defeating players like Jessica Pegula, Maria Sakkari who are consistently in the top 10 rankings in the world.

The former world number 5, led the tour with aces and she continued that momentum with her in the finals as blasted 11 aces throughout the final against Kvitova. Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova was unable to convert her break points in the match which ended up costing her the title.
