Serena Williams is gearing up for her final grand slam after which she is most likely to retire. With the US Open just around the corner, Serena Williams hopes to win a record 7 titles at her home grand slam. Former World No.1 has struggled with injuries and inconsistent form during her last two seasons but she is hopeful to go far in her home tournament. She’ll definitely have the support from her home crowd. Williams battled a hamstring injury in the past year but she’s on the court now as fit as ever.

Williams has always been vocal about her resentment when it comes to choosing between family and career. In her personal essay for Vogue she said, “Believe me, I never wanted to have to choose between tennis and a family. I don’t think it’s fair. If I were a guy, I wouldn’t be writing this because I’d be out there playing and winning while my wife was doing the physical labor of expanding our family. Maybe I’d be more of a Tom Brady if I had that opportunity.”

In a recent panel, “A Conversations with Champions” , the multiple grand slam champion opened up about spending time with her 4-year old daughter Olympia. She said, “She’s my little buddy, She’s really fun. I see a lot of my personality in her and it’s just a great time to have her around now to see what I do on a daily.”

She further said, “We do everything together. We go on dates and it’s so cool because she likes everything I do except for tennis.”

Williams has previously said on Jimmy Kimmel Live that her daughter is more inclined towards music. She said, “She likes tennis, but I don’t know. Honestly, she likes playing piano. And she’s teaching me! Like, I’m not even kidding. I have a baby Mozart, [but] of course every parent thinks they have like, a baby Beethoven or whatever.”
