World No. 1 Iga Swiatek proved her dominance this season for the nth time that why is she the top-ranked player as the Pole defeated Coco Gauff in the finals of the 2022 French Open. Swiatek won the match 6-1, 6-3 in 1 hour and 8 minutes to capture her second Grand Slam and also her second French Open title dropping just 1 set throughout the tournament.

Swiatek took command of the match early, going 4-0 up before Gauff got a game back, but that was not enough. The second set started well for the American as she broke Iga in the first game and was 2-0 up soon but the Pole fought back to make it 2-2 and then controlled the set to drop just one more game and closed the match while serving for the championship and winning her first Championship point itself.
