After her second-round exit from the French Open, Emma Raducanu has been advised to enjoy the Wimbledon experience despite the mounting pressure. Besides this, she has also been warned and instructed to “keep her head down”.

Emma Raducanu’s rise to the top of the tennis world has been nothing short of spectacular. Last season, the 19-year-old made headlines when she won the US Open, but she has struggled to capitalise on her Grand Slam success. Raducanu has lost in the second round of the Australian Open and the French Open in a row since defying the odds in America. Next up is Wimbledon, when the British No. 1 will once again be the centre of attention.

While the pressure is undoubtedly high for Raducanu, her compatriot Cameron Norrie has told her to “embrace” the opportunity to compete in her home Slam.

From one British No.1 to the other, Norrie said, “She has had a lot of attention after the US Open – I don’t think it will be any easier around Wimbledon. Hopefully, she will go and embrace it. She knows exactly how much attention she will get. It will be even more. She needs to keep her head down and keep enjoying the tennis, I’m sure she is looking forward to the grass. I think it is one of her best surfaces as well. It will be a lot of fun.”

Cameron Norrie also made a comparison between Emma Raducanu’s predicament and his own at that age, claiming that Raducanu’s maturity and attitude are assisting her in dealing with the strain. “At 19, I was doing different stuff than she is now. She is having to deal with a lot more pressurised situation and bigger moments than I was at the same age. I was in college enjoying myself and living a more normal life.”

“She is very mature, very well-spoken and hopefully she can let her tennis do the talking at Wimbledon. She played great there last year. Hopefully, she can use the home crowd to her advantage – people will be loving her, “ added Norrie, who will be looking forward to Wimbledon, with the 26-year-old enjoying a superb season despite his third-round exit from the French Open this week.
