After a year-long absence from tennis, former World No. 1 and 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams has finally hinted about her comeback tournament and it is bigger as it gets. Serena is likely to return to tennis directly at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships where she will be looking for her record-tying 24th career Grand Slam title. Serena’s last appearance was also at the All-England Club when she injured her leg during her first-round match at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships.
She had to retire crying after having played just 6 games. The injury has since her kept out of competitive tennis and many believed that it was the last the world saw of Serena on the court, but the tennis legend has squashed all rumours as she announces her return.

With many awaiting the return of Serena, there was quite a buzz of excitement within the fans. Many others used it as just another opportunity to troll the player as she will be turning 41 this September and given her long absence from the court, the chances of her making a winning return are quite slim.
