“She’s not even 20!” Actor Matt Green defends Emma Raducanu over hate comments as her US Open title defense is ruined

Emma Raducanu, the 19-year-old British professional took the tennis world by a storm last year with her US Open triumph in 2021, being just 18 years of age, Raducanu won the US Open after defeating Leylah Fernandez in the finals of the tournament. Ever since then, she has been hailed as a prodigy by the tennis world.
She has, however, been unable to keep up with her performances from last year as she has had a very underwhelming 2022. She faced early exits from every major tournament she has played in this season and people are really starting to turn on the British youngster, her title defense dreams were also shattered as she bowed out of the US Open.

Everyone had high hopes for Emma Raducanu at the US Open this year, she came in with the target of defending the title which she won last year coming into the tournament as a qualifier, and fans thought that they would see a repeat of last year and Raducanu would finally be out of her slump but that dream was quickly crushed as French professional Alize Cornet defeated Raducanu in the first round of the US Open.
Raducanu was blasted by fans all over the world as she was called a one-trick wonder and undeserving of competing at this level. English actor Matt Green took to Twitter to defend Raducanu after her loss at the US Open, he wrote, “Few things sum up male entitlement more than the comments under an article about Emma Raducanu that confidently predict she was just a one hit wonder and will never win anything else again. She’s not even 20, she’s won a Grand Slam and yet Dave from Slough knows it’s over.“
In her post-match conference, Emma Raducanu admitted to feeling heartbroken but still had hints of optimism in her as she bowed out of the tournament, she will be looking to come back stronger in future tournaments.
