Serena Williams, the former world one and the six-time US Open champion started off her final Grand Slam journey on a good note after registering a comfortable win in the first round against Danka Kovinic. She started with some unforced errors and looked out of place but soon bounced back hitting off some amazing shots to turn the result in her favor. She had managed only one win out of her four matches but she overcame all odds to come out as the winner and gets to play one more match before she bids the final adieu.

Williams has won as many as 73 singles titles which comprise 23 singles Grand Slam titles, the most by any player in the Open era, and is just one away from equalling Margaret Court‘s record of 24 singles major titles. She has been the talk of the town since she announced her retirement after a vast career of more than two decades. She is one of the torch-bearers in revolutionizing women’s tennis and creating a niche on her own. She will be up against Anett Kontaveit in the second-round clash with the hope of surviving another match in her final innings.

Serena Williams is one of the fashionable players, especially with her out-of-the-box choice of outfits. For the final Grand Slam of her career, she had to do something extraordinary as it was her time to shine and she literally did shine with her choice of outfit that was full of glitter starting from her shoes, socks, and dress. For the 2022 US Open, the black outfit was designed by a dedicated team of brand Nike in partnership with her jewelry brand called ‘Serena Williams Jewelry Company‘. Her long-sleeved glittering black outfit incorporates six layers with each layer dedicated to each title win taking inspiration from figure skating.

The shoes she wore were also designed by Nike with some personal customizations such as her initials ‘SW’ and ‘Queen Mama’ across their sides, a diamond-laden ‘Swoosh’ logo, and a total of 400 hand-set diamonds embedded in the shoes, with lace-locks made out of diamonds as well and solid gold shoelace tag to compliment the whole look. The major highlight of her full look was her unique hairstyle which she had styled with diamonds that totally uplifted her whole to another level.
