Two-time Grand Slam title champion Simona Halep landed in Miami days before the Miami Open. The Romanian returned to the WTA Tour after her successful CAS appeal and a tedious legal battle.
For the uninitiated, Halep was issued a ban of four years by the ITF after failing the doping test during the 2022 US Open. Since then, the Romanian has been on a tolling war, appealing against the ban. Soon, luck favored Halep, as she was allowed to present her case in front of the CAS.
Successful with her appeal, Halep was given a reduced ban, which the Romanian had already served. She was allowed to compete in any tournament henceforth. Halep was then offered a wildcard entry into the next tournament, the Miami Open.
Arriving early in Miami, the two-time Grand Slam champion went straight to practice. The 32-year-old posted a video of her training, where she showcased her game, implying that she is all ready to make a fabulous return.

All eyes will be on the Romanian, who is about to set foot in her comeback match, as the days get closer.
Unranked Simona Halep may face up against any top seed in her comeback tournament
Former World No. 1 Simona Halep gets ready for her comeback to tennis. After being forced to be sidelined for over a year, the Romanian is all fired up to get back to action.
She landed in Miami days ahead to get some practice in. However, Halep enters the tournament unranked after not playing for almost a year, thus leaving her with a high chance of playing a top seed. The top seeds of the game usually get paired with some wildcards or qualifiers in the initial rounds, and likewise, Halep may face off against anyone.
With most of the season remaining, Halep will aim to gain some momentum at the Indian Wells and slowly work on a comeback to remember.
