Simona Halep, the Romanian ace, has had all eyes on her ever since her doping ban was lifted. For context, the Romanian was banned on October 7th, 2022, after being caught with traces of Roxadustat during the 2022 US Open.
For the next year and a half, Halep has been constantly appealing to the public. Luckily, the CAS heard her calls and granted her a chance to appeal in front of the court.

After three days of appealing, Halep finally received some good news. The tennis professional was found guilty, and her four-year ban was reduced to nine months, which was already completed. However, while the world rejoiced at Halep’s return, some people refused to believe it.
Renowned journalist David Wash explained the doctor’s statements involved in Halep’s case. For the drug to be recognized, the player needs to ingest it more than 50 times the recommended 10-gram daily serving to produce her test positive.
That’s not all; the Doctor also had another theory suggesting that Halep must have consumed the substance over 5000 times the recommended daily dose to produce the concentration in her August 2022 sample.
Nonetheless, in either situation presented by the doctor, Halep must have consumed a good amount of the substance, proving that there might have been some partiality involved in the decision-making. At the time of writing, no legal action had been taken; there might be a possibility for the court to re-look at the case of Halep.
Simona Halep had a disappointing return to tennis losing her first match against Paula Badosa
Romanian pro Simona Halep made her return at the Miami Open. After over a year on the sidelines, she received a wildcard entry into the Miami Open and was up against Paula Badosa in the first round.

Despite a first-set lead, Halep failed to finish the match, allowing Badosa to change momentum and turn the table. It was an exciting first-round clash between two world-class players.
However, it was Badosa who bagged the win, 1-6, 6-4, 6-3. With this, she cut short Halep’s return to tennis. With that being said, it is yet to be seen whether Halpe will respond to all these flowing accusations before making another comeback to the court.
