Simona Halep, a 2-time-timed Slam champion, is in the limelight yet again as the ITIA banned her for a period of four years for failing an anti-doping test. As she maintains her stand of not doing anything wrong, she will appeal this decision in the Court of Arbitration for Sports in the hope that the ban gets revoked.
Amidst all this drama, this story might have a new twist as her fans point out an alleged role that her coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, might have played in giving Halep a few supplements.
Simona’s fans on social media are going wild with theories as to how she got charged with doping. The expert panel in the anti-doping case against her had mentioned that stimulations were effective from March 2022 to September 2022.
Her fans pointed out in one of her social media posts that she had joined the Patrick Mouratoglou Academy on March 4, 2022, opening a wide range of speculations and allegations.
As expected, fans could not help but notice this strange coincidence, pointing out that her coach might have had a role in giving her supplements. They shared two tweets by Halep that point in this direction and give a completely new angle to this case.
Simona Halep faces criticism from the tennis World following her ban
Simona Halep has received a lot of sarcastic comments and digs from other tennis players. Nick Kyrgios recently made a statement saying that if she has taken the supplements, she should just admit it. He also mentions that he would have won five slams if he were into doping.
Serena Williams also took a shot at her, calling out that eight is a better number, as she claimed her 8th Wimbledon title if Simona Halep is stripped of her titles following the ban. Halep had stopped the American from winning her eighth Wimbledon title in 2019. Things are still unclear and will reveal themselves once she appeals to the CAS in the hope of revoking her banned status.
