Jack Draper is a British professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as world No. 85 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), which he obtained on 25 July 2022, and he also achieved a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 477. Draper’s name became popular when he reached the Wimbledon championship final as a junior in 2018 where he finished as a runner-up.
The Briton was recently seen playing in qualifiers of the Atlanta Open in which he was defeated by the Indian tennis player, Ramkumar Ramanathan by 7-6, 3-6, 7-6. Draper also played against the reigning Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic in 2021 at the All England Club in the first round but was lost to the Serb.
Jack Draper believes that there are many lessons which can be learned from Rafael Nadal
Recently, Jack was hosted by Benaldinho at British GQ’s GQ heroes, alongside Jack, Declan Rice (a British football player) was also seen on the talk show where the British duo also talked about how they see the future of sports in their country. The host asked Draper about what he learned from Rafael Nadal.
“Just as the way he operates on a tennis court and off the court as well, his attitude, I think everyone can see it in any sports, he is someone who fights hard for every point. He is a very humble guy. I think you can learn many lessons from a great athlete like that. And, Obviously, the success he’s had is been amazing,” said Draper.
Rafael Nadal who has already won two grand slam titles this year is showing no signs of stopping now, even at 35. The Spaniard has now set his sights on the US Open next month to add one more in his tally of grand slams which will take it to 23. Who knows it could have been 23 if Rafa didn’t go through an abdominal tear in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon against Taylor Fritz.
Before he features at the US Open, he will also take part in the Rogers Cup starting on 5th August in Canada. The tournament has some big names playing this year.
