“Something that could affect you negatively into something more beautiful” Renowned violinist points out a life lesson to learn from Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic has been in the centre of headlines last week post his Wimbledon win and of course his 21st grand slam win. He’s just one slam behind in terms of most no. of grand slam titles. He has won it all before 35 and is still going strong on the path to becoming Tennis’s most successful individual. Time and again he has proved he is not here for the second spot with his game.

Djokovic was the centre of all the drama at the Australian Open at the beginning of this year and he was deported before the start of the Australian Open in January because he remained unvaccinated. Rafael Nadal went on to win that tournament, which was the 21st Grand Slam championship of his career and broke a tie with Djokovic and Roger Federer for the most men’s singles titles at majors. The Djokovic story provoked anger among some Australians when it appeared that he had acquired a particular visa exemption to enter the country and compete in Melbourne, despite the rest of the population being forced to stick to strict Covid regulations.

Nemanja Radulovic wants everyone to learn from Novak Djokovic’s transformation after the Australian Open drama

Speaking to the reporters ahead of the Monte Carlo Masters 2022, Djokovic said, ‘The last four, five months have been struggling for me mentally and emotionally, but here I am. I try to leave all of that behind me and move on. He further admitted that he hadn’t experienced something like that before in his life, but at the same time, the incident didn’t leave huge scars on him. Djokovic, further said that he thinks about the whole situation daily and acknowledges it.

Franco‐Serbian violinist and artist from the prestigious  Deutsche Grammophon label, Nemanja Radulovic, interviewed by our colleagues from L’equipe, talks about his special ties with Novak Djokovic, whom he has known for about five years. According to him, the whole drama during the Australian Open impacted him ‘negatively’ to which he turned it into ‘Something more beautiful’ by winning Wimbledon in the same year.

“In the Balkan countries, the same orchestras play for weddings, parties and funerals. This is what Kusturica’s films show: tears and giggles, beauty like the hardest things to look at. What I like about Novak is that he has great sincerity with his emotions. It’s never fake or overrated; some criticize it but those who know it outside know it: it is natural. And if there is a lesson to learn from Novak, it is this: to know how to transform everything that could affect you negatively into something more beautiful. This sincerity towards life and towards himself, people see it. When he talks about tennis, it shows, it’s total love.” said Nemanja Radulovic
