Serena Williams has remained the face of women’s tennis for almost over two decades. Despite announcing her retirement a couple of months ago, the American legend always has a spotlight on herself. The 23-time major champion played her last professional match against Ajla Tomljanovic, where she went down fighting in three sets in front of a deafening noise inside the Arthur Ashe stadium.
Serena Williams has sparked rumors of returning to the professional tour in a recently concluded press conference in San Francisco. She mentioned that the chances of her returning to the big stage are still pretty high, and has declared herself as ‘not retired.’
However, these comments did not go down well with her fans after they were put through an emotional wreck during her ‘Last Dance’ at the US Open 2022. Fans have ridiculed the former tennis star of trying too hard to get attention, and have suggested her to not overturn her initial decision.

Serena Williams’ comments were made at an event which was aimed at promoting her investment company. Fans have also speculated that the statement was made in order to publicize the event, which has again not gone too well with.
