Rafael Nadal currently holds 22 Grand Slam titles, the second most in men’s tennis, only after World No.1 Novak Djokovic. He has a record 14 titles at the Roland Garros, the most any player has won at the French Open. He is currently ranked 237 in the world due to being off the tour on account of injury.

However, Nadal does have a staggering 5-year-end World No.1 position. The Spaniard hopes to be able to be back on the tour and at the 2024 Paris Olympics for one final dance.

After a hip injury he suffered at the Australian Open, Nadal had to get surgery for his recovery. This led to the Spaniard being pushed to the sidelines for the remainder of the 2023 season. Even though unfortunate, injuries are an integral part of a sportsperson’s career. However, this injury looks like something the Spanish maestro can completely recover from.

Rafael Nadal has always admitted that he wished to be competitive once again. He also said that his age is a major factor he needed to take into consideration. At 37 years, the Spaniard is on the higher end of the age spectrum of players on the tour. While Nadal has proved time and again that he is completely capable of holding his own, age is a major factor in an athlete deciding when it is time to stop.
