“Standards seem to be breaking in tennis” Clay Travis says it’s a joke that Novak Djokovic might not play the US Open

The United States Tennis Association has announced that they will not be imposing the ban on the Russian and Belarusian players unlike Wimbledon 2022. They have also made a slight modification of the vaccine mandate that the people will not need negative CoVID tests to enter the United States, but they will still need to show their vaccination certificates as no unvaccinated individual is allowed entry in the US.
This mandate might spell trouble for the former world number 1, Novak Djokovic who has chosen to remain unvaccinated and was therefore unable to defend his title at the Australian Open 2022. If he is denied entry in the US, he would lose 1200 points due to his appearance in the final of the US Open 2021 and will further slide down in the rankings. Djokovic’s team will have to request a special exemption from the US government regarding his entry on US soil.
Clay Travis thinks that Novak Djokovic’s issue will get resolved.
Clay Travis, an American writer, radio host, and television analyst was present with Fox News to discuss the ongoing issues in sports. He talked about the US Open and their decision on the ban. He said, “First of all congrats to the US Open, I think they got it right, allowing the Russian players to play unlike Wimbledon which is not allowing the Russian players to play and I think that’s crazy and by the way, that standard seems to be breaking up a little bit in the world of tennis”
About Novak Djokovic’s situation, he said: “Since It’s late August, I tend to think this issue is going to get resolved because remember this was a huge controversy in the New York City itself between the Yankees and the Mets when the major league baseball season was about to start, and they came out with a brand new special exemption that suddenly allowed all the top major league baseball players to play.”
