The talk on a Sunday afternoon in Paris is the men’s singles final at the Roland Garros. Novak Djokovic, the two-time champion in Paris, will be up against Casper Ruud, the reigning Paris finalist. A mouthwatering contest is on the cards as both players gear up to challenge for the championship.
However, some practice is much needed before the match, and that’s exactly what Novak was on before his super important final. With coach Goran Ivanisevic, the Serb hit a few balls so that he could rule off any minor issue that was there in the Carlos Alcaraz semi-final.
In a video put out by Roland Garros where the Serb can be seen practicing, fans noticed a very cute thing. Novak’s son Stefan was seen helping his father with the balls. Being the obedient ball kid, he made sure his father doesn’t have to wait for balls. He can be seen running from corner to corner. Trying to hold 3-4 at a go and pass them on to his father.
Another beautiful moment in the short 53-second video was right at the end of the clip. It can be seen that team Djokovic came together in a huddle for one last cheer. However, Stefan was far from that huddle. His father made sure he waited for his son, who helped him so much in the session. Stefan can be seen running toward the huddle and joining the team. Team Djokovic shows a thumbs-up as they feel they are ready for the finale.
Novak Djokovic will be confident after the Alcaraz showdown
The biggest hyped match of the tournament was the Djokovic-Alcaraz match by far. Both players didn’t disappoint their fans and made sure they safely reached the semifinals for their clash. The first two sets were tight ones, with both players taking a set each. However, it went horribly downhill from there for the Spaniard as he struggled to cope with the cramps at the beginning of the third set.
His movement was disrupted, and he lost the match 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1. Winning a pressure game like this just before the finals might just be the right recipe to lift the trophy. The Serb will be high in confidence as he will face a slightly lesser challenge than he did in the semi-finals, at least in terms of rankings. Can he carry forward in a decisive manner and win his 3rd title in Paris? Only time will tell.
