Taylor Fritz clinched the win over Stefanos Tsitsipas in the fourth round of the Australian Open. Though the Greek was going in as the favorite in the match, the American turned up on the big stage. The 2023 Australian Open finalist started the match off well but couldn’t capitalize after the second round. The American just allowed six points to Tsitsipas in the last two sets as he clinched the win.
After the match ended, Tsitsipas was asked by the Australian Presser about what his father said to him during the match who was sitting just beside the court.
He really wanted me to get into the match. He really wanted to show me that I'm not alone out there, that there's a whole pack behind me, they're out there to give me all their strength and all their courage to keep on going strong, to find a solution at the very end of it.Stefanos Tsitsipas at the AO
