The focus of the entire tennis world is now at the 2024 Indian Wells Masters. The maiden ATP Masters-1000 event will see some of the big names return fighting for the prestigious trophy. This includes former Russian No. 1 Daniil Medvedev and Greek No. 1 Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Of the two, only Medvedev has reached the finals at the event. He however lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the title decider last year. Before last year, the Russian had not gone past the fourth round in any of his five appearances.

As for Tsitsipas, his best result came in 2021 when he made it to the last-8. In his other four appearances, he has reached the third round just once while losing in the second round thrice. He is 5-5 at the tournament while Medvedev is 11-6.

While their records are underwhelming to an extent at the event, their rivalry on the Tour is certainly not. Having known each other from their junior days, they have been arch nemesis since then. With various on-court altercations and cheeky digs against each other, the two have always avoided each other whenever possible.

However, they stunned everyone at Indian Wells recently. With the tournament set to commence in less than two days, the two shared a joint practice session at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. Stef’s father and coach Apostolos was also seen near the court although Medvedev’s new coach wasn’t seen in the video.

Fans come up with hilarious reactions to Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas’ joint practice

While the shared video was just 26 seconds long, the two still seemed very formal instead of joking around like many other players do. Nevertheless, the two bitter rivals sharing the court certainly had fans hooked.

Many came up with different reactions to the two players having the practice together. While they might have moved on from their past differences, certain fans were still recalling their ugly rivalry and comments from the past.
