This is not the first time Mattel, Barbie’s parent company has collaborated with Tennis or Tennis players. Mattel honored Billie Jean King by releasing her doll in the 2020 Inspiring Women Barbie Collection. Barbie wore a tennis outfit, tennis racket, glasses, and sneakers. The look was based on the gear she wore when she famously won the 1973 “Battle of the Sexes” against Bobby Riggs. Mattel also released a Naomi Osaka Barbie doll just ahead of the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

Some of his fans also thought the all-pink Wilson racket was atrocious and sexist. A fan said that this racket “Just set WTA 10 years back”.

As the clay season has taken off, fans expect Stefanos Tsitsipas to win big. Tsitsipas had a good run in last year’s clay season with him winning the Monte Carlo Masters 2022. He was also crowned champion at the Mallorca Open 2022. In other clay tournaments also he went on to finals, semi-finals, or quarters. Needless to say, his fans are hoping he picks up some more titles this year, using the pink Barbie racket in the process.

Tsitsipas suffered early-round losses in the Sunshine doubles tournaments, as he was nursing an injury from Australian Open. But he is now preparing for the clay season at full throttle.
