ATP World No. 7 Stefanos Tsitsipas once again spoke about his relationship with girlfriend Paula Badosa as he claimed that they would have found each other regardless of them playing tennis. The couple has always been open and honest about their relationship, despite being constantly placed under the spotlight.
‘Tsitsidosa’, is what the fans and media have termed the name for the couple. But, they have been constantly criticized by the media for their relationship. While both players have had a dry couple of months, they have been accused of focusing more on their relationship and less on their game.
However, despite this criticism, they have always been out in the public about their relationship. Stefanos Tsitsipas has revealed that he believes they would have found each other even if they were not involved in the sport. He said:
I honestly think that even if we hadn't been tennis players, we would have found the same passion and love for each other. It just happened to come from tennis, which is a beautiful story because my journey started from tennis and her journey started from tennis.
Tsitsipas even compared their relationship to that of his parents saying they found each other because of the sport as well.
Tsitsipas faced difficulties in finding someone who understood the demanding life of a tennis player. He explained that it was challenging to find a person who truly comprehended the tennis player’s lifestyle and was willing to commit. Further, this understanding made his relationship with Paula Dosa smooth, and so there were no misunderstandings between them.
The ‘Tsitsidosa’ relationship so far
The couple have never been shy when it came to showing their affection in public. They even have social media handles, ‘Tsitsidosa’ which covers their time together.
They have been together since the first half of 2023. While they were set to team up for the mixed doubles event at Wimbledon, Badosa had to withdraw on account of injury. They have been a team both on and off the court ever since.
While Badosa is still on the tour due to injury, Tsistipas is playing the best game possible at the moment. He is now set to compete in the quarter-final of the Vienna Open, where he will be facing Borna Gojo.
